She is available to help you with any administrative or non-medical aspects of your healthcare and to discuss any suggestions (which are always welcome) and comments on the running of the practice. She has specific responsibility for staffing matters, health and safety and finance.

Secretarial Staff

Eileen and Denise

The secretaries are responsible for dealing with referral letters and any medical reports requested by outside bodies. They are also part of the reception team.

Reception Staff

Jackie, Janet, Maureen, June, Joan, Tara and Linda are here to help you and are your link with the rest of the healthcare team. If you have any enquiries our reception staff are here to help you, but please remember they have a difficult job to do with telephone calls and queries coming from every direction. They may ask you one or two questions in relation to your request. They have been asked to do this, but the information you give them will always be treated in confidence as they are bound by the same rules of confidentiality as the doctors and nurses. Their job is very demanding so please be patient.

Staff Attached To The Practice

Trafford Primary Care Trust employs district nurses, midwives and health visitors who work from within the local healthcare centres.

District Nurses

There is a team of nurses attached to our practice led by Sister Patricia Frainey. The nurses deal with patients requiring nursing at home who are housebound, elderly or terminally ill. They also run clinics every day at Mitford Street Clinic where they attend to dressings etc. They work closely with the doctors.

The midwives assist the doctor in the care of expectant mothers before and after birth. The midwife attached to our practice is Lyn Copues.

Health Visitors

Trafford Primary Care Trust provides a team of health visitors who give advice and support to mothers and children, including monitoring of normal growth and development. The service works closely with the GPs and community paediatric services. The health visitors can be contacted at either the Delamere Centre Tel 0161 864 0300 or Seymour Grove Tel 0161 872 5672.

There is also a team of health visitors who deal with the elderly. They can help with arranging help at home, day care, welfare issues and can also put patients and their families in touch with any relevant organisations. If you feel you may need their help please contact the surgery and we will pass your details over to the team.
